Your skin is completely unique to you and that’s something to celebrate! Our 21 Days to Glow journey is taking our community through a virtual calendar of expert skincare and professional tutorials for glowing, dewy skin. We’re here to help you curate a tailored beauty ritual and reveal your most beautiful, glowing self.
We’ve taken three common skin concerns – the ones we’re asked about most by all of you – and presented them to super-facialist Teresa Tarmey. Keep reading to learn how to identify these skin concerns, and which of our must-have Korean skincare products can help you get chok-chok results.
This is such a common issue that we all experience during different seasons or stages of our lives. Dryness will look and feel flaky, rough and slightly red. Pay attention to common hot spots, including your nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin.
Caring for dry skin starts from within: follow a balanced diet and drink plenty of water. Then, supplement this lifestyle with a skincare routine full of skin-loving, nourishing and hydrating ingredients.
Some of Teresa’s favorites include hyaluronic acid and ceramides. Hyaluronic acid can help boost skin’s hydration levels – even holding up to 1000 times its weight in water! Ceramides are naturally made in the body, working to trap moisture. The moisture-boosting ability of both ingredients is enhanced in our most hydrating range: Aqualuronic.
Three hyaluronic acid molecule sizes combine to make Triple Hyaluronic Acid, while three ceramide types join to become an Aqua Ceramide Complex. Thanks to this power pairing, the range is clinically proven to increase hydration by at least 83% with just one use. The formulas also provide intense hydration and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The range offers a complete skincare routine but Teresa’s heroes are the Toner and Serum. This Serum is clinically proven to instantly improve skin hydration by 89%, and the Toner by 96%! Those numbers speak for themselves.
Many of Teresa’s skincare tips revolve around application. For dry skin, you need to ensure you’re locking in all of that beautiful moisture you’re applying. K-beauty sheet masks act as ultra-hydrating skincare steps to make sure every last drop is soaked into your skin. Some AHC masks contain an entire ampoule formula, delivering hydrating ingredients to give an extra boost of moisture ideal for giving dry skin a healthy glow. If you’re looking for these drenched AHC masks, look out for packaging shaped like a bottle!
Natural Essential Mask - Aqua Nourishing
Teresa swears by the e range. Inspired by skin soothing treatments in Korean aesthetic clinics, each mask combines mild yet intensely hydrating essence (blending natural ingredients) with high quality pure cotton mask. This premium combination provides an optimal hydration and soothing effect, plus specialized benefits added to each mask. You have four options to choose from, Calming, Lifting, Nourishing or Brightening.
This one is straightforward to spot. Telltale signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles, will start appearing around your eye area, with deeper lines along your forehead.
Different skin concerns need different specialist ingredients. For anti-aging skin care, look out for peptides, vitamins and hyaluronic acid again. These can help manage early signs of aging.
AHC has developed an eye cream combining all three ingredients. Essential Real Eye Cream for Face blends five peptides (providing nutrition to your skin for boosting resilience) and six vegetable proteins (to moisturize and firm the look and feel of your skin). These are processed through the unique AHC Microsome Technology that ensures each top-quality ingredient absorbs effectively into your skin. This formula delivers intensive nourishment like an eye cream but has been made to use on your whole face. You can even use it as a makeup primer for dewy and glowing skin. Plus, it’s ideal if you’re trying out K-beauty’s skipcare trend.
Essential Real Eye Cream for Face
Essential Real Eye Cream for Face is a hero for a reason – it’s clinically proven to instantly improve skin hydration by 82%. It’s quick to work, too. The formula is proven to improve skin elasticity – and even skin tone – after just two weeks. Apply using Teresa’s expert massage techniques to help strengthen your facial muscles and give your face a glowing boost (watch the video for Teresa’s demonstration).
Sensitized skin might react to skincare products with harsh ingredients or be prone to redness, itching and flaking. You can curate a gentle skincare ritual for your skin, but if redness, inflammation or acne persists and progresses, please seek medical advice. If there is any concern around your skin type becoming a skin condition, it’s always best to visit a dermatologist.
Sensitive skincare is all about knowing what’s inside your formulas, so look for products with limited and key soothing ingredients. Each formula within the AHC Minimal 10 range has no more than 10 ingredients, with one of these being an ultra-soothing plant called centella asiatica (or cica). This herbal ingredient is known to have healing, soothing, antibacterial, and inflammatory properties, making it ideal for sensitized skin. Inspired by traditional Korean fermentation methods, AHC steam, dry and mash the plant three times to produce its most potent extract.
Minimal 10 Range
The range comprises of a Water Essence Therapy / Ampoule Serum / Aid Cream and its very own Gauze Sheet Mask – for glowing skin, for sensitive skincare, we’re going to focus on the Watery Essence and (you guessed it) the Therapy Ampoule Serum.
Watery Essence is made up of just two (!) ingredients. That makes this formula an amazing 98% cica extract. This 3-in-1 high concentrated soothing essence effectively delivers skincare essentials to ensure you see smooth and supple skin.
Highly concentrated and naturally a beautiful green color, the Therapy Ampoule Serum contains just nine ingredients. The formula is 60% centella asiatica extract, in a blend with hydrating safflower seed oil that is known for fortifying and protecting skin.
We hope you found Teresa’s AHC run-down useful for helping dry, aging and sensitive skin get glowing results. For skincare advice from more experts, visit the AHC Instagram channel – your 21 Days to Glow journey awaits.
